Wow, Richard! I can't imagine him being gone. I remember that he told me that he planned on becoming a Mortician when he graduated, and I thinking that he had the perfect personality and look for that! I remember all the good times that we all had in band. So sorry that he isn't with us any longer!

Does anybody know what happened. I enjoyed playing in the band with him at Truedell. Very nice guy, God bless him.

Richard was related to Mr. Freeman (the band teacher) and knew where he lived way across town.  It was he that guided several of us over there to teepee Mr. Freeman's house.  When we were done, we went to eat nearby but before we headed home, we cruised back by to survey the damage and there wasn't any.  Mr. Freeman had obviously seen us and cleaned it up immediately.  He never even let on (that I recall) that we had done it.

Another memory I have was that Richard had one of those big old Dodge's (or maybe it was a Plymouth) that still had the flashing yellow police lights in the back window.  I always thought we should use them to get head-of-the-pack privileges in traffic, but he wouldn't go there.

Rest in peace Richard...
