Remembering the story I was told of how Lester died... he was out having fun w/ the "Junior/Senior Breakfast" or something like that and fell out or off of a moving vehicle, he wasn't pronounced dead right away, he was taken to the hospital where he died a couple of days later. I think he was on life support the whole time and just was too injured to survive.
He was such a sweetie and was so kind!
Lester and his brother Don went to Cleaveland Elem. That's when I thought Lester was just a little twirp. : ) This was because, his big brother, Don, and I were 'boyfriend & girlfriend' : ) and were pestered by Lester when we were together. That's so cute - we were just kids.
But, because I graduated mid-term in Jan. '83, I didn't have much contact w/ our classmates during what was our Senior year and didn't get too involved in 'rites' of passage. So when heard this, I couldn't believe one of "us" was gone. We were too young to die. I was shocked and ended up getting a real dose of life as an adult. I discovered we are not invincible~
Lester was one of my best friends in high school. We had sooo much fun together!! He always made me laugh and was always there for me as a friend. I still miss him dearly.
