Hans had MD and was in a wheelchair while attending West. He died from his diease in 1986 or 87 according to Tammy Phipps Atwood.
Angela Campbell Van Buskirk said this about Hans: "He was AWESOME! I took many a ride on his lap in his wheelchair. He rocked!"

Hans was an AWESOME person. I will never forget seeing his picture on the MD Telethon. For some strange reason I always felt like he would be the one to beat it. I bawled like a baby.

Hans and I shared many late night conversations. He was very aware that his life was going to be short - buthe lived his life as fully as he could. He always had a smart comment for me - he was brave to endure all that he did - Love you Hans!
