Delmer Samuel (Sam) Dennis (Dennis)

Cheryl Brady was a beautiful young lady when I somehow convinced her to go to our junior prom. She had been dating an upperclassman for some time (I've forgotten his name) and he was not happy with me for asking her out.  The word got out around school that he was going to 'whip my a--, and I was mortified, to say the least. Long story short, I was coaxed into meeting him at Jack's. Words were yelled, punches were thrown - and... well... I survived. Cheryl's Dad was the local marine recruiting sergeant and being this was the height of the Vietnam war I steered clear of him.  But.. as to Cheryl, I was forever smitten. She eventually went back to dating her former beaux and I moved on - though the crush I had for this beautiful young girl remained for a long, long time. As I moved on to college and eventually to Texas to live I lost track of Cheryl - just like so many from our High School Days - so that I just now saw she had passed. Cheryl and her family were members of the church I attended, and I see from her OBIT that she was active in church in MO. This said, I pray I will see her again for our hope - regardless of the journey - lies in Christ.
