North High School
Class of 1969
ANNOUNCEMENTS

Details for the 55th Reunion are now available.  Registration begins April 18th.  Click on "Registration 55th Reunion" on the left hand column to register for the reunion activities.  Hope to see every one of you there!

A quick update as the 55th Reunion committee continues planning for the reunion October 4, 5, and 6. Registration is planned to be open later in April. Look for the announcement in the near future.
Details on the activies for both Friday and Saturday night events are being nailed down.

Also, in March it was announced for the 55th Reunion a "class video" would be created that would include material contributed by our classmates. This material could include school related items as well as non-school related photos, news clippings, etc.. Subject matter might be summer activities, parties, jobs, happenings in Wichita - all during the years we attended North High, from 1967 through 1969. We have received a number of contributions and would welcome all to come in over the next couple of months. So, dig around, look into those dusty boxes put in storage decades ago, lol. Any well kept secrets that could be exposed decades later? All the more welcome!

  • Need any snapshots or photos to be “digitized” in preferred JPEG format, others will work but that would be preferred.

  • On the chance film/videos might be contributed, these too would need to be “digitized” and in the following formats - MP4 (preferred) or MOV or PDF

The reunion committee is asking for any media contributions to be sent by July 15th. Contributions can be sent to our Class Creator website administrators:

Bruce Andrews: BruceAA127@gmail.com

Julie (Fox) Hall: JulieFox5169Hall@gmail.com

Here are just a couple of examples of some of the material we have already gotten. Someone lucky enough to have gotten a '69 Corvette and shared it with a brother, and another lucky recipient of a birthday cake made of cardboard!

June 2023

Greetings North High Graduates of 1969,

As mentioned in earlier announcements a 55th reunion is now being planned.  Mark your calendars for the first week of October 2024, Friday October 4, and Saturday October 5!  These are the initial dates selected for the 55th Reunion.  While this will be a sole class reunion for our class, the dates will coincide with a North High “All Class” Reunion to also be held the first week of October 2024.  As the reunion committee continues the planning for the reunion more announcements will be made.

As a reminder, if you know of fellow 69’ers that have not signed up for our class website on Class Creator, encourage them to do so.  It is free and a great way to stay updated on not just the planned 55th Reunion, but also on the happenings to our fellow classmates of 1969.

We are also adding a link that explains how the new mascot for North High, the RedHawks, was created.  There has been a lot of discussion, over the past year, by North High graduates – some good, some bad, lots of angst expressed – for many of us we will always be “Redskins”.  However, the link is to a video that explains how the “RedHawk” mascot came into being and its long-term significance to North High.  It is an interesting and uplifting video.  Please view it if you have not had a chance.
