He served as a coach and teacher at Robinson, Truesdell and Hadley Junior High Schools; and at West High School, where they were State Football Champions three consecutive years in the mid1960s. Even though he switched professions and was a Pharmaceutical Representative for the past 36 years, he always considered himself to be a "Coach" selling drugs!! In 1981, he returned to high school football and was a volunteer coach for Kapaun Mount Carmel. His coaching career spanned his lifetime whether he was coaching sports or coaching kids on life, he always had a great time! (Wichita Eagle, March 28, 2003)
