To the Senior Class of 1967 (West Word, May 19, 1967)

Just three years ago you entered West High School as sophomores. At that time you were bewildered, eyed the seniors with envy, and prepared for what you thought was a long, hard road ahead to graduation. Now it’s here. A backward look does not seem nearly as tedious as a forward look appeared during your sophomore year.

The question now is: “What have made of the three years?” Did you take advantage of the educational opportunities offered? If you did, a bright future is ahead. There is no way now that these years might be relived. They are past They may well mean the difference between a life that will be rewarding and one that may be mediocre. You’ve had the opportunities. I hope you handled them wisely.

We will miss the class of ‘67. You have helped bring to West many honors and laurels that would not have been ours without you. You have contributed well to the life of school. Staff and students alike have appreciated this. In return we wish you no less than the best in the future.

May this be your good fortune because being graduates of West, you are, and deserve, the best.
