Helen Lucille (Dunbar) Frieze, 86, of Bella Vista, Ark., formerly of Wichita, retired home economics teacher and USD 259 director of home economics, died Wednesday, April 24, 2002. Mrs. Frieze received her bachelor's degree in home economics education in 1938 and master's degree in home economics in 1964 from Kansas State University. She also received a master's degree in guidance counseling from Wichita State University. She was president of the Wichita Teacher's Association and Wichita Administrators Association; Kansas State Education Master Teacher; Kansas State University Distinguished Service in Human Ecology recipient; executive director of the Kansas Home Economics Association and chairman of the Bella Vista Property Owner's Association. (Wichita Eagle, April 26, 2002)
