M. Newman Retires From Cafeteria Staff (West Word, April 7, 1967)

As the year progresses, students, teachers and members of the staff leave West due to certain reasons.

Mrs. Mary Newman, one of the school cafeteria workers has retired after fourteen years here at West. Teachers, former teachers, and office staff contributed a china cup full of nickels, dimes, quarters and half dollars that amounted to slightly over thirty dollars to her.

Mrs. Newman was given the money as a personal “Thank You” for being so helpful. When asked how she felt about receiving the cup full of change, Mrs. Newman said, “It sure was a big surprise and I am certainly going to miss each and every one of them.”

A newcomer to the staff and replacing Mrs. Newman will be Mrs. Eileen Sidles.
