Adeta Riner (Teacher)

Adeta Riner died Thursday, March 2, 2006, at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born Feb. 24, 1927, in Moslorkut, Russia, the daughter of Paul A. and Floy Bales George. The family later moved to Wichita. She earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Friends University and a master's degree in science education from Wichita State University. Ms. Allen taught biology and chemistry at four schools in Wichita, and worked as an administrator there and in Doland Springs, Ariz. She later taught at Fort Scott Community College and in China at the Guangzhou Foreign Language University under a Yale University program. She moved to Lawrence, where she was a member of the Oread Friends Meeting. (Lawrence Journal-World, March 5, 2006)
