Alma Rogers (Teacher)

Alma F. Rogers of Jasper, Tenn., formerly of Boulder, died of natural causes on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002. She was 88. The daughter of Arch Fleming and Zella J. Johnson Fleming, she was born June 26, 1913, in Claremore, Okla. She married Andrew J. Rogers on May 17, 1937, in Wichita, Kan. He died in October 1991. She lived in Boulder from 1978 to 2000. She graduated from Greeley High School in 1930 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Colorado in 1934. Mrs. Rogers taught high school journalism, publications and English in Kansas, Arkansas and Mississippi. She enjoyed church, school and community activities and owned a knit shop in McCook, Neb. "She will be a greatly missed mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother," her family said. (The Daily Camera, Boulder, February 12, 2002)
