Laura Lucinda Clark passed away December 20, 2008 at the Anthony Hospital. Laura Lucinda Clark, daughter of Stanford C. and Gladys (Ford) Randels, was born June 18, 1938 in Anthony, Kansas. She grew up and attended the Anthony Schools until graduating with the class of 1956. She continued her education, graduating from Emporia State University with a master's degree in education. On July 2, 1961, Laura was united in marriage with Kenneth R. Clark in Kiowa, KS and this union was blessed with three children: Curt, Carla, and Kyle.

She touched the lives of all she met. Laura had many jobs throughout her life. She spent a majority of her teaching career at Anthony High School then moving to Chaparral High School teaching PE and Biology until retiring in 1996. Following retirement, she became the science and drug free school coordinator for USD 361. She also became an EMT, helping with the ambulance service in Harper County. She was instrumental in training many people in CPR and first aid; she worked to teach and help others as long as she could. Her job list also includes farmer's wife and mother, active grandmother, Youth Friend Mentor and Trainer, and Harper County Healthy Start Home Visitor. She was still involved with teaching science by accompanying high school students on field trips and teaching teachers at many conventions. She was well known throughout the state in various capacities. Everyone knew her as a fun loving and hard working teacher, mentor and friend.

Laura was always involved with sports; coaching tennis, basketball, and track at Chaparral High School. She also refereed volleyball and softball and spent many of her early years teaching swimming lessons and life guarding at the Anthony Public Pool. She was an avid tennis player and enjoyed attending all sporting events.

She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Anthony where she sang in the choir and was a song leader during Vacation Bible School. Laura was involved in many education associations: NEA; NSTA; KATS; and AAHPERD. She loved teaching and will be missed by many colleagues and friends in education.
