Grace Annette Hiebert Hench, slipped away on January 16, 2010 to meet her Lord, after a year-long battle with cancer. Her burial was in Kansas. She was a home economics teacher at West Covina High School for 8 years and teacher/librarian the past 2 years. Prior to that, she was a talented florist working for Altadena Florist, Jacob Maarse Florist and others. Annette and Ron were active in Pasadena First Church of the Nazarene for many years before finding a church closer to their home in Claremont. She loved her husband Ron, her extended family in CA and KS, her many friends, cats, Groucho and Daisy. She enjoyed cooking, making crafts and creating wedding flowers, as well as scuba diving, alpine skiing, and country music. Annette was patriotic, unceasingly cheerful, even in adversity, always thoughtful of others, a wonderful wife and an amazing friend to many. (Pasadena Star-News, February 10, 2010)
