ANNOUNCEMENTS

Jayne Willa Curry, born on October 26, 1964, departed this life on Thursday, December 24, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends with whom she had touched in a big way throughout her short, yet memorable life.

While Jayne lived most of her adult life in the Cleveland, Ohio area, she was born in Florence, South Carolina to the late Reverend John W. Curry, Jr. and Beverly P. Curry. Jayne could be described as a giver, which she began to demonstrate during her earlier years through service as a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Jayne knew who she was and what she stood for early on in life and whatever she put her mind to achieve—she accomplished.

As a 1983 graduate of The Andrews School in Willoughby, OH, "One of the sweetest and nicest persons" were yearbook sentiments expressed by many of Jayne's classmates. Her quest for knowledge persisted at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, OH where she graduated with the class of 1987 having earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications. Jayne's heart for service continued, where as an undergraduate she joined the Epsilon Omicron chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. and participated within various community service activities. For most of her professional life, she served primarily as an Executive Assistant for Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) for over twenty years.

Anyone who knew Jayne knew how much she loved life and laughter. However, her greatest pleasure was being a devoted mother to her daughter, Tatiana, and spending time with her family and friends. Jayne touched the lives of many with her smile, generosity, and maintained her trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. We will all miss her sense of humor.

Jayne will forever be remembered by her beloved daughter, Tatiana G. Farmer; faithful mother, Ms. Beverly P. Curry; loving brother, John (Denise) W. Curry, III and sister, WillaMarie (Chad) Jackson; dear uncle, James (Vera) A. Curry; caring cousin, Eric B. Curry; great aunt, Thomasena Fisher; two nieces, Madeline and Natasha; one nephew, Julian along with countless other relatives and friends whom were blessed to know her.
