Jayme refers to herself as a “recovering” mortgage banker, and spends her time pursuing her passions of real estate investing, commercial development, writing and teaching.
Jayme Kahla has over 30 years in the Real Estate Investment Field in the formation of, and involvement in, REITS, Investment Partnerships, and Syndications where she has acted as Investor, Syndicator, Mortgage Banker, Underwriter, and Commercial Developer. She’s been a licensed Mortgage Lender & Banker, former CPA in three states, and is currently the owner of Austin-based SMI Funding, a spinoff from the company she co-founded in 1992 and took public in 2000, where she acted as CFO. She is also the principal in EquiCapital Source, Inc., and Austin-based Commercial Real Estate Private Investment Fund.
International Author and Trainer, Jayme has more than 18 years teaching & coaching experience, thousands of satisfied students, 3 books and countless educational seminars, video, audio and other real estate finance products to her credit. Currently, she is developing a residential sub-division in Dallas, TX along with a 34-acre commercial tract. Ms. Kahla is a graduate of Baylor University and currently resides in Austin, TX.
