Toby was going to take his son and daughter to the skating rink in Jamestown ,was taking a nap on the couch and never got up again------i sure miss him---still ! I went into the Navy in Oct 1969-1973-Toby met Patty the love of his life and tied the knot in 1974. we had a Blast when partying !! I Don Shearer was his best friend After talking to my sister, the closest date as to Tobys death was in 1990 where he lived With Patty and kids in Jamestown,Ohio. Toby worked at American Buildings in Jamestown with Bob Hill as welders.
Don, I read your kind comments about Toby and wanted you to know that although Toby wasn't a close friend of mine, we did often see each other in the hallway on our way to our next class. He would say Hi Ron and seemed to be upbeat ...... had a geat personality. I guess I was shocked to learn that Toby passed away so soon, and often wondered what had happened. I too, was in the service from 69-72 and spent almost the entire time out of country so I was out of touch (so to speak) with what was happening in our hometown of Xenia. You are fortunate to have shared your friendship with Toby (and he with you) during the short time you both had together. // Ron Soward //
