Classmates Get Re-acquainted
Who:You (significant others welcome too!)
What:A night out with the Eisenhower Class of 1999 at Gilbert Cellars. Reintroduce yourself to old friends and new ones, catch-up, and laugh at how little you knew in high school!We will have light appetizers, music, and name tags so you don't have to feel silly if you just can't place that classmate you haven't seen in 10-years!!!Gilbert Cellars offers great wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages, but you will have to purchase your own :)
Where: The Gilbert Cellars tasting room in downtown Yakima, located at 5 North Front Street by the Greystone. Your former classmate Sean Gilbert has been busy as General Manager of Gilbert Cellars, producing world-class wines. If you haven't been to the tasting room here is your chance, we have rented the basement room.
When: The event will begin at 8pm and go until Gilbert Cellars closes. For those who want to continue the party, there are many great bars in downtown Yakima we can head to afterwards!
THE MAIN EVENT
Saturday, August 15th, 12PM - 3PM
BBQ at Eisenhower High School
Who:You and your children, spouses, partners, and some of your teachers from back in the day.
What:A BBQ/family-friendly picnic where you can hang out with the Class of 1999. This will be like all of your favorite backyard summer BBQs: great people, games for kids (and brave adults), music, food, etc. We will be setting up a volleyball court, slip-and-slide, bocce ball, badminton, and we might even have some of your past teachers serving up the hamburgers or refereeing a friendly soccer match.
Where:Eisenhower High School on the soccer fields (north of the main building, adjacent to the old "senior" parking lot). What better place to reminisce than at your old school. It has been a while, but hopefully you can remember how to get there ;) Look for the big white tent!!! The school is going to be torn down soon to make way for a new building so don't miss a last chance to hang out.
When:The picnic will begin at noon and go until 3pm.
The COST for both events will be $10 per adult. Children at the BBQ are free! Whether you attend the evening at Gilbert Cellars or the BBQ, or both...the cost is $10... SO COME TO BOTH EVENTS!!! The $10 helps us cover the costs of appetizers, banquet room rental, tent rental, BBQ food, etc.
After the Picnic on Saturday afternoon feel free to hang out with friends you haven't seen in a while. We will not have any scheduled events on Saturday night or Sunday. In order to keep the cost of our reunion low and allow freedom for classmates to plan the remainder of their weekend, Case of the Blues will not be a part of our reunion programming.
