Shirley Smith Hicks was an angel God sent down to prove that attitude determines everything. Our warriorettes know her and will give much more acclaim than I can at this time.
But, two years ago I saw Shirley at Myrtle Beach, SC. She was with the warriorettes. What struck me more than anything was how Shirley was giving me advise to help my wife. My wife has fibromayligia and is often bedridden. So here is a classmate on experimental drugs for cancer and living on borrowed time against the odds. Shirley is an inspiration for all of us to mold our lives by her example. She is a true treasurer of a Spirit that didn't know the word quit, give up, never, hasn't not been tried, can't happen. This reunion is going to be difficult without Our Shirley. Her enthusiasm and contagious smile along with her laugh will surely be missed August 22-24.
