When a person sees that one of their classmates of many years ago passes away it is a sad occasion.  Each time I see a classmate from our "Class of 64" from South High I think of my association with that individual. Each of us in that class could have not known all of our fellow students individually, and those we did know, memories of that person came to the surface.   When I saw the name of Sharon Fisher (Miller) I was saddened and to her family I extend my sincerest condolence.   During the years at South High Sharon and I were a couple.   I enjoyed her friendship and I used to walk her to her residence on Market Street to where she lived with her grandparents at Rollins Photo Studo.   Her father was the French teacher at South. I had a great relationship with her grandparents and I remember her grandfather allowing me to use his Desoto to take Sharon out on a date.  I am not sure what we did.   We went to the prom together and she met my parents before the dance.   I remember her cousin, Cheryl who also went to South and she was a nice person. In November of 1964 my parents sold their home and we moved to California.   Within three months of our arrival I entered active duty in the Navy.   I had joined the Naval Reserve in my senior year.   I reported on board an aircraft carrier and started my commitment.   Sharon and I wrote to each other and about a year on board I received orders to transfer off and report to the USS KITTY HAWK which was in Vietnam.   After reporting I was assigned to the admiral's staff working in the war room;   Before reporting overseas I received a letter from Sharon's grandmother with my classring.   I had not been corresponding with Sharon and understandably, I kept her in limbo.  Both of us were young and having a romance thousands a miles away would be hard.   Before leaving to report onboard the KITTY HAWK,  I took leave and went to visit my sister in Canfield and I did see Sharon, which was a good visit.  I am not aware of how many children she had and how many years she was married, but I am sure she loved her family.   God know each of us and He knew Sharon and her family.  Sharon was a respectible pretty young women and I am glad that I had had the pleasure of knowing her;   May God bless her family because of her passing.  I do appreciate the notification of our fellow classmates passing.   May this Covid virus pass on and normalcy be with us again.  With all of the killings, demonstrations, political woes we see each day, my wish is to be and  pray each day and read the scriptures, read good books and help otherts in need.  We are seniors now and Kathy and I visit others to share friendships.   God has blessed us even with hard times, death of our son, but 53 years of married life has been good.   We have been faithful to each other and may we have many years together.  I have read several books during the pandemic.   My wish is that each of us who are still living be able to fullfill lifes' blessings each day.   I have asked God to grant me sufficient time to be able to write my life's story to leave it for my children.  I have a memory problem with names, but my memory of the past is very good.  I enjoy genealogy and have done much research on my last name and my parents' family names.   I will close my thoughts with I love the seasons in Ohio and my children who live in Texas, California and Florida left Ohio because of the cold. Our favorite place to travel to is Hawaii.  It is a long plane ride, but worth it when you arrive.    I send my love to all of you.

Sincerely, David C. Edmondson

I am so sorry to hear of Sharon's passing.  Dave, I was very touched by your kind words of your high school romance.  You two were such a fun, happy couple, and I'm glad these memories remain with you.  Hopefully, Sharon can read your words from above.  Hope to see you, "Smooth", and others reading this at our 60th Reunion!  May God Bless You and Yours!  Hugs, Janet (Barger)
