BLOOMINGTON — Kay Levandoski, 71, of Bloomington, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 7, 2015) at Arba Care Center, Bloomington.

Her funeral will be at noon Thursday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, with the Rev. Randy Reece officiating. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Cancer Center or MarcFirst.

Kay was born Aug. 26, 1944, in Lincoln, the daughter of Gustav and Dorothy Ritchhart Franz. She married Wendell Wert and later married Edward L. Levandoski. Edward preceded her in death.

Kay is survived by two daughters, Tamara (Sherrill) Meister-Leslie and Michele Wert, both of Bloomington; two grandchildren, John Miller and Savannah Leslie; her mother, Dorothy Carlen, Bloomington; and a sister, Paula (Cloris) Wilson, Towanda.

She was preceded in death by her father; her stepfather, Edward Carlen; and a niece, Karmon Cooper.

Kay graduated from Bloomington High School. She worked for Growmark as an administrative assistant for more than 25 years, retiring in 2007.

Kay enjoyed volunteering her time for the betterment of others and always put those in need before herself. She served on the board of MarcFirst for many years. She was an advocate for the rights of mentally challenged individuals and had testified in Springfield to help change how the mentally handicapped were treated within the state of Illinois.

Kay also enjoyed boating, working puzzles, but most of all, being with family. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. She will be dearly missed.
