Kathlene Mae Mann, 73, of Normal, passed away peacefully Saturday (May 12, 2018) at OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

She was born July 15, 1944, in Bloomington, the daughter of William and Martha Weed Mann. She was preceded in death by her parents and older sister, Charlene Rider.

Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. According to her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded; there will be no services.

Survivors include three sisters, Theresa (Lawrence) Reece, Bloomington; Nancy (Robert) Papp, Normal; and Martha (Antonio) Rodriguez, Gardner, Kan. She had seven loving nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and -nephews.

Kathlene “Kaybe” was a lifelong resident of the community. She graduated from Bloomington High School in 1962, proudly winning numerous awards in bookkeeping. She retired from Eureka Williams in 1999 after 33 years of service.

Kathlene was particularly known for preparing holiday dinners and cookie platters for family and friends. She immensely enjoyed reading books and solving word puzzles. She will be remembered for her generosity to others and her keen sense of humor. She devotedly served as one of the caretakers of her mother for many long years.

The family wishes to thank the McLean County Nursing home for the special care they gave to Kathlene during the past five years.
