Corinne Rusk Ashcraft

 

Corinne Rusk Ashcraft, 54, of Luguana Hills, Calif., formerly of Bloomington, died at 9:55 a.m. Saturday (May 22, 1999) at her home.

Her graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at east Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington, the Rev. Philip D. Queen officiating. There will be no visitation. Kibler-Smith Memorial home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Community Cancer Center or to the Immune Deficiency Foundation, Towson, MD.

Mrs. Ashcraft was born Sept. 18, 1944, in Bloomington, the daughter of Wilbur and Edyth Carter Rusk. She married Aaron Ashcraft on Nov. 26, 1966, in Bloomington. He survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Allison (Kevin) Kresss, Sonoma, Calif.; a son David R. Ashcraft, Crystal Lake; and a sister, Nanette R. (Fred) Groves, Normal.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Mrs Ashcraft was a graduate of Bloomington High School, Stephens College, and University of Denver.

She was a member of Geneva Presbyterian Church of Laguna Hills, where she served as a deacon.

Corinne was a member of Pi Beta Phi; National Charity League; National Association of Presbyterian Women;Assistance League; Stephens College Alumni Association; Deans Cancer Support Group; American Needlepoint Guild; Denver University Alumni Association; and former member of the Stephens College Golf Team. Corinne was a co-founder of the California Chapter of Immune Deficiency  Foundation.

Corinne fought breast cancer for 7 1/2 years, but never complained. Her cheerful attitude was a constant encouragement to others. She will be sadly missed by family and friends, but her positive spirit and charity remain as an example to all who knew her.
