Mrs. Evelyn Botkin, 69, of Independence, Iowa,  formerly of Lexington and Wapella, died at 5:55 a.m. Monday at People’s MemorialHospital, Independence, Iowa. She ws taken to the White Funeral home there.

 

Funeral services in Independence will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the UnitedMethodistChurch in Lexington, the Rev. Raymond Harrison officiating. Burial will be in LexingtonCemetery.

 

Visitation will begin two hours before the service at the church.

 

She was born March 2, 1907, in Wapella, a daughter of John H. and Ada Belle Owen Halvey. She married Linden H. Botkin Feb. 23, 1924 in Clinton.

 

She is survived by her husband.

 

She was preceded in death by her daughter.

 

She was a teacher and librarian in the Bloomington schools for 25 years and a teacher in Independence for five years.
