PONTIAC — Roger R. Ruddy, 82, of Pontiac, passed away Wednesday (March 1, 2017) in Saunemin.

A private memorial service will be at a later date. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.

Roger was born March 25, 1934, in Pontiac, to Claire B. and Vera C. Lovelock Ruddy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother in infancy.

Roger was a graduate of Pontiac Township High School and graduated from Illinois State University, having received a bachelor’s degree and then a master’s degree in foreign language, specializing in Latin and Spanish. Roger dedicated his career to teaching at Bloomington High School and retired after more than 40 years. He enjoyed books and was an avid reader.
