When we graduated, John Birney and I drove to Alaska and worked there during the summer. I went to UC Riverside for two years and then finished my degree at La Verne after I married Cathy Pile.
I have been living in Manhattan Beach since 1966. I first moved to the area with Don Kieselhorst and then stayed on after he moved. Don introduced me to Alison (a classmate at Pomona College) and we were married in 1969. Then I worked in the concrete pipe industry and then import-export before becoming self-employed in construction in 1972. Currently, my employment is limited to maintaining my rental property here at the beach. I spend a lot of time in Belize working on projects to improve the lives of the refugee communities there.
