It was so sad to hear that Andy had passed on - I have been in touch with Andy's sister, Marlene, who will be forwarding us some details of Andy's life.

Thanks for fixing Andy's entry--I see I typed 1960 when I meant 1990 and I was still off.

God bless, Andy.  He reminded me of Sal Mineo in his role as "Plato" in Rebel Without A Cause.  Of course, being several years his junior I was easily absorbed by his worldly charisma.

Great memory about the Di Orio family.  We lived on Oak Park Drive across the street from the Zappas.  Andy lived a few houses up on St. Augustine.  One day our dog Sam got loose and he took off up the street.  Shortly, he came trotting back home with his tongue hanging out and polished off a bowl of fresh water.  As the story goes, a month or so later the Di Orio's dog came up pregnant.  Of course Sam was a notorious fence-jumper so he became the logical suspect.  Apparently, my father and Mr. Di Orio argued the point until Dad agreed to pay for the vet's expenses.  The Di'Orio's dog weighed less than 40-pounds and Sam was a Shepherd-Boxer mix weighing in at 80-pounds.  Ouch!
