What did you do after leaving BHS?

US Air Force, BS from Univ. of Southern Mississippi, MBA from Univ of North Florida. After a few years with a national CPA firm in Houston, TX, I landed in Jacksonville, FL and opened my own CPA practice in 1979. I have been happily counting beans since. My son Chris is also a CPA in the firm. As of January 1, 2010, I have semi retired and Chris is running the business. In addition to normal CPA activities like audits and tax preparation, I will continue to write continuing education manuals for CPAs and present classes around the country for the Florida Institute of CPAs and myself. I plan to work a few more years because I like it, my health is reasonable, and and life is good.

Favorite School Stories:

Tomps Gray (who I was sorry to hear has passed away) and I were neighbors and friends on Ft. Benning. One day we had a sort of mock wrestling match in our yard. Tomps outweighed me by about 100 pounds. I was quicker then than now and did okay until he decided to just sit on me. I lost.
Another favorite was when several of us put a teacher's Volkswagen (I don't remember whose) in the school building's hallway. No harm done.
Strange as this will seem, I did not know that one of our classmates (61) was the famous Newt Gingrich until I was told at the 40th reunion by Janie Willis. I always remembered him as Newton. Feeling dumb is not even close.

Dream Vacation?

My wife, Diana, and I took a week long trip on a special canal barge (12 passengers) up the Burgundy Canal in France. Great food and wines shared with nice folks.
