Bruce was my best friend since the 4th grade at Sam Houston Elementary. There, Wynn Seale, and the first year at Ray, we did everything together--night and day. Even when he moved over to Carroll, we remained close. Each Christmas, when were too old for our parents to buy us toys, I would always drive over to Bruce's house and we would play with his younger brother's toys. After college, when I moved off to an Army career and he became a successful Pharmacist, we still kept in touch often. When my wife Chris (Ray class of '61) and I came back to Texas and Corpus every year, we would usually hang out with him and his wife Barbara. Friends that long are hard to find anymore. Bruce ended up having a great, long life, having lived probably 20 years longer than he expected after his liver transplant. Whenever I would call him on the phone, I would joking always ask him if he was still alive. Sometimes he had to think about it. We always laughed a lot.

I'm sorry I had to find out about his death from his daughter Traci. Barbara never called me like I always expected her to do. I learned she now has Alzeimers and was basically oblivious to Bruce's death. These are sad times for me, but will be short lived.  I will forever remember the happy times. I will miss my best friend.
