MACCURDY
Karen Sue McGuffey MacCurdy passed away, at her home on August 28, 2009, of natural causes.
She was survived by her son Hobert Randolph MacCurdy Sr and wife, Lana Gayle MacCurdy, of Canyon Lake, Texas; her three grandchildren, Hobert MacCurdy Jr., of Houston, Texas , Melanie MacCurdy Murillo and her husband JoeRay,of New Braunfels, Texas, Gaven MacCurdy and his wife, Nicole, of Houston, Texas and her four great-grandchildren, Katelynn, Paul, Caleb and Nathen. Karen also left behind many dear and cherished friends, as well as her beloved Mikey and Bubba.
Karen grew up in Corpus Christi, and graduated from W.B Ray High School in 1959. She spent many years living in Alaska and then returned home where she settled in Austin. She worked for the Travis County Sheriff's Department before retiring from the Texas State Bar. She enjoyed her family/cats, her friends, reading, travel, and ebay. She is loved, missed, and appreciated.
Visitation for Karen will be held Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., with a Chapel Service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
