Glenn Owen Helka Scholarship Fund..............

Crestwood Scholarship Fund ~ If anyone is interested, you can contribute to the Glenn Owen Helka Scholarship Fund, which is used to help pay for a graduating senior from Crestwood to attend college.

Glenn was a private first class in an infantry platoon who landed in Vietnam on August 5, 1968. He died as a result of hostile fire on September 5, 1968 at Quang Nam, South Vietnam. Glenn never did graduate with his fellow classmates in 1969. He choose to enlist in the Armed Forces.

The requirements for the Scholarship are:

* 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA
* Proof of post secondary academic plans (College acceptance letter )
* Teacher and Counselor Recommendations
* List of extracurricular activities including athletics, community service, clubs, etc.
* Copy of High School Transcript
* 300 word Essay on how you best exemplify Mr. Helka's characteristics of bravery
and strong character in the face of adversity.
* A family member that served in the United States Armed Forces overseas will be a
plus.

Your contribution is tax deductible. I started the organization "Crestwood High School Alumni Association" and the scholarship fund is a by product of this organization.
