School Story:
There is so much, but there is one that particulary stands out in my minde. Well, everyone remembers Mr Campbell - English teacher. There was this guy name Winston Clarke - everyday trouble maker; Mr Campbell's cane was left on the desk and he used his pen and jammed holes in the cane, then he left the class. However, when he came back he was breathing heavily. So, Mr Campbell said " where are you coming from and why are you breathing like that". Winston replied, "me nah breed sah". The class erupted in laughter and everytime I remember, I still laugh about it. And he did get caned.
I remember the days when we used to walk from Falmouth to Martha Brae and it was so much fun. Nowadays, children don't want to walk, they stand idly by the roadside waiting on the taxis that play all the vulgar and sexual explicit music. Those were the good days and I remember them well and I tell my children about them too.
The days when Rosemarie Jeremiah, Totlyn McDonald, Clive Foster, Mauviette Williams and I used to sit in an empty room and eat lunch and just chat and have fun. Rosemarie always giving jokes - always jovial and happy.
How can I forget the Zion bread - I even tell my kids about that too. Guys like Everton Chin, Ziggy, Simon English used to go to Zion to get the bread for us girls who were not so brave to journey to Zion - hmmm, that bread was soooo gooood.
I'm sure we all remember Ms Cumberbatch. Where is she now? We need more disciplinarian like her. Boy, was I afraid of that woman; and Mr Campbell too.
I am happy though for my time at WKMHS and I have no regrets.
