School Story:
My years spent at William Knibb is one that I will never forget. The atmosphere was warm and loving; teachers were of the same temperature and very encouraging. Some classes were both fun and educating while some you dream in. Teachers like, Mr. Moseley, Mr. Berry “Elect”, Mr. Service, Mr. Thompson, just to name a few, were some of the generals in “discipline” and “strictness”, while Miss Lebert, Mirs. Steel, Miss. Brown just to name a few of the fabulous female teachers who provided the warmth within the institution. I must of course highlight the hard work of Mrs. Lee previously and Mrs. Wynter presently, who in my view have done a tremendous job. Wait I'm not finish how can i forget Mr. Barnett the real big man, the coach who would make the sacrifice for his Tracks & Field Athlete.
Involved I was, Sports Drama, and Clubs, but my love was Track & Field. It took allot, but it was fun and thrilling to represent my school anywhere, anytime. I was pretty much friends with almost every one of my school mates especially girls “yap”. Edgar was the house to be in when I was captain, “but could we beat Burchell, wen dem drop a case a juice at the point’s man foot”. “But dem can tell yu, wen I was the captain a neck & neck fi win sports day”. I was never one to give any form of trouble, but when trouble comes my way it made the headlines.
I could remember the days when the school flood out and wash away the Bee’s box’s and one hero name “Blacka,” swim out to rescue the Bee and the Bee attacked him, he was back in no time to meet the audience of laughter. I could also recall there was talk of the Mill coming down at a certain time of the day, and we all bought our lunch and sat at a distance and watch the Mill. It was like people watching a movie and all the good seats sold out.
Overall it was a wonderful experience despite the challenges faced, which is quite normal being a student. Honestly, If I had the chance I would do it all over again.
