Sandra S. Burchell, 68, of Fredericksburg, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at her home.
Mrs. Burchell had retired from Verizon formerly Bell Atlantic, after 33 years of service, and had also worked for eight years at Mary Washington Hospital. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her friends and family.
Survivors include daughters, Tracy Burchell of Spotsylvania County and Susan Stewart and her husband, Tim of Fredericksburg; grandchildren Chevon Gunter and Alexis Burchell; and great-grandchildren Rashad, Marley and Aubree. She was preceded in death by her father, Earlie Saunders, her mother, Florence S. Monroe, her step-father, Rupert “Billy” Monroe; and a daughter, Tammy Sue Burchell.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday, April 26 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A service will be held at noon Saturday, April 27 at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Rick Ritchie officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alan Hall, Nick Nichols, Gary Seay, Dennis Dunnington, Bruce Heckman and William “Bunk” Shockley.
