Diane Carver

Diane Elizabeth Carver, 68, of 123 Blue Spruce Lane, Bluefield, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Bluefield, West Virginia.
She was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia on August 21, 1944 to the late James N. Carver and Violet Ball Carver. She was a 1963 graduate of James Monroe High School, Fredericksburg, Va. Diane won the Elizabeth Courtney Cup for the Senior with the Highest Average in Social Studies for all 4 years of high school.
Diane attended Mary Washington College and Washington Bible College, graduated from Columbia Bible College in June, 1969. Received her teaching certificate and Master’s Degree from Bluefield College in 1985. She taught Bible in Mercer County-then 4th Grade in Mercer County schools until her retirement in 2006.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Harry Ball and Elizabeth Ball; paternal grandmother, Lula Thacker and a brother who died after living only two days, James Norris Carver Jr.
Diane is survived by: Sister: Lynne Carver Seay and her husband Hal P. of Fredericksburg, Virginia; nephew: Perry Matthew Seay of Fredericksburg, Virginia; niece: Alyson Seay Watson and her husband, Shaun A. Watson of Raleigh, North Carolina; great-nephews: Blake Watson and Colin Watson of Raleigh, North Carolina; stepmother: Inez Henderson Carver of Fredericksburg, Virginia; several cousins.
Memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, W.Va. with the Rev. James Milam officiating the service. Family will receive friends after the service at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home.
