Thomas Edward Steed

October 12, 1944 ~ July 2, 2025 

STEED, THOMAS E. "TOM" of North Branch, passed away July 2, 2025 at 80 years of age.

Loving husband of Patty (née Carter) for 62 years; dear father of Brian (Vera) Steed, Lori (William) Vickery-Sheill, Michael (Sheri) Steed, and the late Melissa Steed; grandfather of 8; great grandfather of 9; preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Delta Steed and siblings, Norma Turner, Annabelle Wiseman, Gene Steed, Marilyn Weston, and Barb Morse.

Tom retired from GM in 2006 after 41 years of dedicated service. He was a UAW committee member and relief man. He learned sign language from his friends and was appointed translator for GM employees. Tom liked to keep busy, woodworking in his garage; tending to his vegetable and flower gardens; and scoping out garage sales.

Tom and Patty enjoyed traveling to Arizona and Florida. He was all business, but he was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, because "the thing of it is" he will be forever loved and missed.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 1 PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD. Burial follows Ottawa Park Cemetery, Clarkston. Family will receive friends Wednesday 11 AM until time of service.
