Karis Lee Kemp passed away April 5, 2005 in Altoona, Florida. Cause of death was a heart attack.  Karis had been in ill health for several years, suffering his first heart attack at the age of 41.

He was a telephone company cable splicer.

Karis was a 40 year member of the Elks Lodge, past master of the St. Johns Masonic Lodge, member of the Scottish Rite and Chairman of the Rainbow Advisory Board, Deland, Florida Assembly 31.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Astor, Florida, where he was ordained as a Deacon in 2001.

Survivors include his wife, Donna M. of the home, daughters Cheri Pace, Abilene, Tx and Dawn Meyer, Melbourne Florida,  brother Arlan Kemp, Altoona and sister Sally Bills, Altoona.
