Lometta Snyder (Swanson)Lometta Swanson, 68, of Winfield, former resident of Harper and McPherson, died April 30,2007, at the Wichita Speciality Hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 pm Thursday at the New Life Foursquare Gospel Church in McPherson. Pastor Chuck Baker will officiate. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 am to noon Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials ar suggested to the Lometta Swanson Memorial Fund or Heartland Home Helath Care and Hospice. Contributions may be sent to Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, McPherson, Ks
Swanson was born Nov 15,1938, in Plains to the Rev William Riley and Dorothy Naomi (Trefethen) Snyder. She graduated from McPherson High School.
She was married to LaVern Swanson on June 18,1961 at the First Assembly of God Church in McPherson.
Swanson was a homemaker. She also worked as a nurse's aide at William Newton Hospital and was employed by the Focus group until her retirement in 1993. She had resided in Winfield since 1990 after moving from Harper.
She was a member of Praise Cathedral Church of God in Winfield and a former member of New Life Foursquare Church in McPherson.
Survivors include her husband, LaVern Swanson, Winfield; daughters, Cheryl Bryant, Fort Worth,Texas and Tamala Palmer KansasCity, Kans; sons, Roger Swanson, Burden, James Swanson, Winfield and Ron Swanson, Katy, Texas; sisters, Constance"Connie"E. Blake, McPherson;Janice N. Martin, Hutchinson and Judith L. Sabus, Stanhope, N.J.; brothers, John D. Snyder, Abbyville, and James F. Snyder, McPherson; and six grandchildren.

I was impressed at the 45th reunion that Lometta stood up and said how much she was enjoying the reunion and was always going to return from then on. Given some of her apparent circumstances, I believe this took great courage on her part.
