I sat next to Janet in Alice Bubriski's history class, and it was great fun. I can't forget the day that Bubriski got on her for biting her nails and spitting the pieces out on the floor. Bubriski definitely said what was on her mind. I'm sorry to hear that Janet is gone.

Janet passed away July 6th, 2006, after a full and successful life. She received a PhD. from the University of Texas (Austin), and was a Professor of Sociology at the University of Houston, where her husband Henry also taught. Her son Joshua was a Rhodes Scholar, and has a PhD. in Political Science from Oxford University. Janet was known and honored in her field, and had served as president of Sociologists for Women in Society. She lived up to the potential we knew her to possess in high school, and is missed by her many friends.

Janet was a good friend to many of us. It was an honor knowing her. She and I would meet and walk to school together.

Janet was one of my best friends from Watchung School through High School. Her mother died in her forties of breast cancer. Janet and her husband came here to Wyoming, when we were in our sixties, after she had breast cancer, so we had a lovely final visit.

Janet was a distinguished scholar, author, beloved mother and wife. I miss her, even though we didn't see each other very much in recent years.
