Don "Killer" Kilmartin, was a good friend. He had a quick wit, smile and enjoyed having fun. We first met at George Inness for the start of a great relationship.
He always had to tell his mother his destination or she wouldn't let him leave the house.
He played many practical jokes on his friends such as putting real estate signs on his friends yards. We all got even with him when we collected about 100 empty bread boxes from the super market across the street from Bonds and cover his entire front lawn. His mother saw us and called the police.
Don, didn't answer roll call and he shall be missed

Don was in my National Guard unit, the 102nd Armored Cavalry, in West Orange. I can still remember one year when we were away for our two week summer camp when we were all sitting around in our fatigues waiting, which is normal for the Army, and Don said to another guy, "I like your tailor." It's probably one of those jokes where you had to be there, but it was the perfect sort of rejoinder to break the monotonous silence at the time. Don liked to kid around and talk with a loud German accent, the kind you hear in a movie about World War II.
