I'm somewhat surprised that there are no comments about Wendy, as she was very popular at MHS. I think she died in the early to mid-1960s. I seem to remember calling her in NYC and having another woman answer, telling me Wendy had died, but didn't offer any more information. A big shock for sure. I never did find out what happened.
Wendy and I were classmates at Mount Hebron. At a time when being obviously intelligent was not easy for a girl, she was able to to carry it off flawlessly. Whether in class or just passing in the hallways, she was a pleasure to be around.
I have to believe that the potential that today's young women enjoy in their careers are in no small part due to the influence of the bright young girls like Wendy who sat next to us in class and didn't let us guys answer all the teachers' questions.
