Roger was an extremely likeable guy who, because of his short stature, was never competitive at sports, but he always approached gym class with good humor.
I remember that he had one of the first dance parties I ever attended, probably in early junior high.
Then we heard that he had a brain tumor removed, and after that he was blind. He continued to attend classes, usually with another student as an escort (Gerry Sunnen comes to mind), but it must have been tough.
I don't know when he died, nor what caused his death, but I was certainly sad to hear about it.
