John Marshall Class of 1968 web-site:
As a graduate you are provided this site free of charge. It is meant to be a community of friends. We have made our best effort to include every Justices '68 graduate. If your name does not appear please send an email to Administrators John McCauley & Ralph (Earl) Ellis and we'll get you added as soon as possible. The idea is to keep improving this website and keep the information accurate. If you see anything amiss please let us know. If you know how to contact a Classmember who has not signed-up, please pass this information on.
The names were taken from the '68 yearbook and from the Justices' list of '68 graduates, if there are mispellings or you prefer to go by a nickname please change your name when you create your profile.
It is easy to get started, just click on the "Classmate Profiles", click your name from the list, fill out the information and pick a password. Your email address will never be revealed to others. Another person can send you a private email and you will receive a notice in your email box that you have a message at this site. You can send messages back and forth without revealing your email address. Your friends will know your email address if you choose to reveal it. Your home address can be hidden or shown it is your choice how you want to handle that information. We would like you to at least enter a city and state because we are trying to map where everyone lives now.

I'd like to thank Bev Massie for getting the ball rolling on a trip we will never forget WAA. We took the train to Washington DC on Friday the 11th. Saturday the 12th people started lining up about 6:30 gates open 8:00 and along with 17,000 others. They open the trailer doors about 9:30 and started helping unloaded 1 of 60 semi-trailers, thruout the cemetery.We place a wreath on the graves of the solders that had served their country. Each person was given 4 weaths and could get back in line for more. It was truly a honor to be a part of this ceremony. My only regret was the not knowing the full detail. from WAA, of what to expect, that we could include more people at another location. Their are a number of locations around the Richmond are

George King and his wife Diana met my husband Tom and me for brunch last month while he was attending a medical conference. George just published a book,The Diabetes Reset. He is an internationally known diabetes expert and research director at Joslin Diabetes center at Harvard. If you or anyone in the family have diabetes, check this book out! The Reflection of the 45th Reunion, maybe we’ll see a 46th
After chilling out at the Blackmans home, while friends that attended the reunion were at home and resting. The group got to reflect how the day went and even with the light showers off and on, we feel everyone had a great time. We had some 1st time class members, meaning they had never been to a reunion in the 45 years and are ready for another. We had some that had not been in 25 and 35 years and were busy talking non stop the whole time. We had 2 guests from Sammy Newberry's family, his sister Belinda and brother in law Steve, who were 1st time reunion attendees and class members kept them busy with a lot of talking and asking about Sammy. We would like to thank them for being there and having a great time. From what I could see, we had plenty of good food and drinks for everyone to enjoy. I did find time to get some later in the event, with greeting, chatting and getting members their senior picture name tags. We had a class members photo shot with all present and it will be on the class website later.. Don’t get me wrong I’ve been to all the reunions and my hat goes off to all the committees of class members who have worked on reunions, it is work, but I had fun at all of them. I can only say I’m sorry about the rain but you know it didn’t dampen the day. We use the term "Old Friends" but it’s an age term, school class members from Jayem are friends forever. I’ll keep searching for missing members and maybe they will join us at the next one.
Thanks to our group, Host Sharon/Robert Blackman, Pat/David Turner, Mary/Earl William, my wife Gail Ellis and Ann/Don Richardson plus some in the background so we could enjoy our reunion.

Robert & Sharon Blackman's son Trent Blackman has been promoted to Captain, and will get his Bars this coming Friday Nov. 30th, along with eleven other new captains at Fort Bragg. He now goes to Fort Sill Oklahoma for 6 months of Career training.
I would like to thank Trent and all our service personnel for their duty in making a safe place for us to live in this world. You can’t take what they do 24/7, away from their families for holidays and months at a time and not say

JMHS GIRL'S LUNCHEN

Old friendships never die and a number of JMHS Classmembers decided to reconnect with a lunchen at the Shananigans on McArthur Avenue, in Ginter Park. The ladies had a great time as you can see in the photo's. Those present at the lunchen Mary Eubank, Peggy and Bette Ramos, Pat Turner, Colleen Crone, Robin Price, Judy Gentry, Janet and Teresa Campbell, Linda Jeter and her mom, and Debby Jacobs.
WOW!!! Another great time in Mexico with classmates from the 60's of John Marshall High School. I never thought we could duplicate the 2010 event in Playa del Carmen, but we did. We had a sit back when Mother Nature took out The Baja and Cabo San Lucas, but we were resilient and completely moved the event to Puerto Vallarta in three short weeks.
The Classes of 65', 66', 67', and 68' were represented. The week went by quickly as we enjoyed the sun, the beach, the pool, food and drink, the spa, fishing, and golf. We had so much fun and the companionship was so indescribable, that everyone wants to do it again. Not in four years, but in two years. We are going to try Cabo again.

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. The two most common types are basal cell cancer and squamous cell cancer. They usually form on the head, face, neck, hands, and arms. Another type of skin cancer, melanoma, is more dangerous but less common.
Anyone can get skin cancer, but it is more common in people who
Spend a lot of time in the sun or have been sunburned
Have light-colored skin, hair and eyes
Have a family member with skin cancer
Are over age 50
You should have your doctor check any suspicious skin markings and any changes in the way your skin looks. Treatment is more likely to work well when cancer is found early. If not treated, some types of skin cancer cells can spread to other tissues and organs. Treatments include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, photodynamic therapy (PDT), and biologic therapy. PDT uses a drug and a type of laser light to kill cancer cells. Biologic therapy boosts your body's own ability to fight cancer.
October 4th will be here before we blink. We will have music that day, so if you have any CD's that have been remastered with 60's type music, feel free to bring them. I have a 5 disc CD changer, so there will be constant 60's music playing, ie, any and all Motown, Beatles, Stones, etc. So if you got an oldy but goldy, pleae bring it and it will get played. After the 2008 class reunion I started this school class web site. At the reunion comments about having a hard time locating class members kept coming up and I must say it’s no joke. Since 2008 I continue to try locating class members, with some luck. The ladies are the hardest due to marriages and maybe a remarriage and changing to another state. I contact some people that wish not to be found and how did I locate them, my answer the Internet, no surprise. Then you find some that just don’t sign-up, and I may have spent days searching, but that’s me, I’m just glad to locate some. As you see I have located around 44 per cent of our class, hopefully that will be near 50 per cent by our 50th reunion. If you know of someone just get their e-mail address and on the site is a Missing Member area to insert that address. This will send them an invite to our site and THANK YOU for your help.
I wanted to thank a large number of you for your kind words about my doing this web site and the contacts you,ve made with friends from the pass. It's funny some may live a mile away and you didn't know it until.

Tick Removal:
A nurse discovered a safe, easy way to remove ticks where they automatically withdraw themselves when you follow her simple instructions. Read this one as it could save you from some major problems. Spring is here and the ticks will soon be showing their heads. Here is a good way to get them off you, your children, or your pets. Give it a try. Please forward to anyone with children, hunters or dogs; or anyone who even steps outside in summer!
A School Nurse has written the info below--good enough to share--and it really works! "She had a pediatrician tell her what she believes is the best way to remove a tick. This is great because it works in those places where it's sometimes difficult to get to with tweezers: between toes, in the middle of a head full of dark hair, etc." "Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball. Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and swab it for a few seconds (15-20); the tick will come out on its own and be stuckto the cotton ball when you lift it away. This technique has worked every time I've used it (and that was frequently), and it's much less traumatic for the patient and easier for me.." "Unless someone is allergic to soap, I can't see that this would be damaging in any way. I even had my doctor's wife call me for advice because she had one stuck to her back and she couldn't reach it with tweezers. She used this method and immediately called me back to say, "It worked!"
CHECK OUT THE AUTO TRAIN FOR TRAVEL TO FLORIDA (only from Lorton Va. to Sanford, Fl. direct non-stop during the night both ways, as you sleep in lounging seats)
If You plan to travel to Disney this summer or just to visit family in Florida, look into the Auto Train. If you plan ahead you can save more money. Leaves Lorton Va. at 4pm every day and arrives in Sanford, Florida at 9:30am with YOUR car to use. After your car is unloaded it's about 40 min. to Disney Area. I forgot to tell you a great supper in the Dining car going down an breakfast in the morning before you arrive, included in your fare. You need to arrive 2 hr before the train leaves to checkin and allow time to load your car leaving your bags in the car, except for 1 or 2 carryon for your trip (no extra charge) After flying to visit family and take in Baseball Spring Training, Gail and I started taking the Auto Train. Not having to rent a car for the week and pay extra fees at airports, you can save.
