After high school, I played Volleyball and Basketball at Dixie College where I met my husband, who also played basketball. We were married in August of 1989 and went to Utah State University. After Rich completed a degree in Business Information Systems and began working for Novell in Provo, I went back to school at UVU (then UVSC) and completed a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature (Thanks, Mr. Larsen), raised our five children and somehow managed to squeeze a St. George Marathon in there. After three painful hip surgeries (I wouldn't recommend this...) my running days were over. We bought a ski boat and now spend as much time as possible on a lake, any lake. I coach a Club volleyball team for Club Utah at Flash Factory by Thanksgiving Point from January to May and drive kids around. Jaron (18) is graduating high school and planning for an LDS mission. Although he is 6' 4", he only weighs 140 lbs. so opted for Ballroom Dance in high school rather than sports. Jessica (17) does school and volleyball (she's 6'). She's considering attending Ohio University next year after she graduates to play with their nationally ranked team (GO BOBCATS). She'll be taking a trip out there May 13-14 to decide if she wants to accept their offer. Hayden (born on the 4th of July, 1995) does Ballroom, scouts and distance running. Nathan (10, but already 5' 8") loves hugging his mom, which I love also. He could be the first 7-footer on the planet that can't catch a basketball, but we're working on it. Lauren (6) is the wild child of the family. We keep her hair short in an effort to discourage her cutting it again (twice and counting...). She loves gymnastics.
When I'm not driving kids around, watching ballroom competitions or volleyball matches, working at the elementary school or traveling with Rich, I serve as a Council President for PTA in Alpine School District, dig in my yard, mountain bike, read, teach sewing and am finding time to write children's books and plan on submitting something somewhere real soon.
I got a job this year teaching Senior English/World Literature at American Fork High School. Love it! |

I still can't clear the wake. Any suggestions? (and don't critique my form...)

Did I say 140 lbs? That may have been a slight embellishment... Jaron-Bear Lake-Summer 2007
