I believe George passed away in 1978. He was working on his car and somehow he inhailed propane from a torch he was using. That's all I can remember.

GEORGE WAS ONE OF THE BEST FRIENDS I EVER HAD. WE SKIPPED SO MUCH SCHOOL TOGETHER! I'VE THOUGHT ABOUT HIM OFTEN OVER THE LAST 30 YEARS, AND I'M SURE I'LL THINK OF HIM MANY MORE TIMES IN THE FUTURE. GEORGE WAS SO CRAZY AND FUNLOVING, THAT I'M NOT TOO SURE ABOUT THE SUICIDE COMMENT. WE SPOKE EVERY DAY AND SAW EACH OTHER OFTEN OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL. IT WAS A SHOCK THEN AND IT STILL SADDENS MY HEART TO THINK OF HOW UNLUCKY THE HUMAN RACE IS TO BE DEPRIVED OF HIM

I still miss George to this day. Every time I think of him, I think about my 15th birthday party. It was a swimming party, as we lived on a lake, and when George got there, and saw how small it was, his comment was "If I had know how big your lake was, I would have brought my rubber ducky!" My parents were listening through the window to the patio, and he won their hearts immediately with that quip. We were all saddened by his passing, and wonder to this day if there had been something we could have done to help ease his pain in another way.
