In Memory

Michael Fairbanks

Mike didn't die of cancer, he was given prescription drugs for depression when he and his wife separated and he wasn't able to spend as much time with his twin daughters. He was watching TV, fell asleep and never woke up. Mike was the best person I ever knew, and if you knew him, you know what I'm talking about. Mike never met a stranger, and he was the kind of person who would lend a hand to help anyone, even if he just met them. We had a lot of great times during and after high school. He was a great friend and is dearly missed.

Ronniie is right!!! Mike was a great guy. I remember after his father died (I think it was 10th grade). We would go to his house after school, eat food dropped off by the TPD and drink Wild Turkey. It was always an event when Mike, Sammy, Ronnie, Donnie, and "Yo Yo" would show up at a party. Anything could happen and often did. Mike will be missed.

Oh, it is hard to read of Mike's and other classmates' deaths. Mike was a great guy--a straight shooter, direct, and you always knew where he stood. He had tough breaks in his life, but a great spirit and wry sense of humor. I am very sorry to hear of his passing.

I'm very sorry to hear about Mike. I always think about him when I drive by forest hills. Mike was a good friend and had a huge smile. I grew up by Mike and remember he always took care of his little brother Dougy ( he called him) and his Sister. I remember Mike's raspy voice and him always laughing. Rest in peace my friend.
