I went to beach week with Mike and Steve Marsicano. It is hard to believe they are both gone. Mike was so quick witted and had a beautiful smile. I know he had a brother James who graduated a year after us and they were really close. We heared that Mike committed suicide not long after graduation. I will always remember him.
I've frequently thought of Mike over the years. We were the best of friends in high school, and would often bump into each other around town for years later. I miss him.
My buddy Mike.....I still have a picture of him sitting on my desk. Mike ran a very respectable Electrical Comapny and did a lot of work for me and other large contracting firms. At the time, Mike was separated from his wife, he had 3 boys 7,9 and 11 years of age. Mike was really down at the time because the decision was his wife's to not be together. Mike moved in with me for about a year or so and I tried to help him through the agony.
Mike loved his wife dearly but the return love was not there! Mike moved out and said he was starting a new life and moved into his own place. We were suppose to get together Memorial Day Weekend but he never showed.
At 10:45 pm I returnd home to hear a voice mail. The voicemail said "Hey Rick I am sorry I didn;t make it I was in St Augustine for the day with my boys" " I will see you soon and I just want you to thank you for helping me and I love you like a brother!"
Oh Red, what a sad story about Mike. He lived just down the street from me, and I knew him from elementary school. He was a very nice fellow, and I am so sad at this news.
