I can't believe the little response to the Class Reunion Survey!!  Come on Class of '63, are we that numb in our old age that we don't want to at least try to get together one more time before any one else passes away?

I for one have very pleasant memories of Troy High & made some very nice friends while there.  I think there are a lot of you that grew up & went to school with a large number of the class for all 12 years & I was envious of that.  Since we moved a few times and I went to several different schools, it was hard to make friends each time in a new area.

I would enjoy seeing many of the class & hope we can somehow get a group together...

I agree, Dennis. I guess there isn't anyone in the class of '63 that likes to keep in touch except for the few that we see on this message board or are our friends on facebook. Oh well, at least we look at this site every so often to at least check in to see if maybe someone else will respond. Hopefully everyone will have a safe & Happy New Year...

Hi Everyone! Happy Spring to all...Hopefully the bad weather is over for now & we can look forward to a nice pretty spring & comfortable summer. Guess I'm dreaming, living in the heat here in Georgia! At least it hasn't hit the 90's yet, but it will soon enough! Hope all is well with everybody. Good thoughts & blessings are sent your way.

Hi everyone!  Have a great Fall.  Can hardly believe another season is here already! I guess it must be that as we get older & time is so precious to us that it goes by so much faster.

I'm looking forward to seeing some of you at Roger's Tribute in Troy on Oct. 11th!  I wish more could attend so we could reconnect after all these years.

Have a beautiful leaf changing Fall.  My blessings to all.

The tribute for Roger was awesome & I wish more from the class had attended.  It meant so much to me to be there.  I can't thank Betsy enough for all she has done for the class.  This web site was such a blessing for me to be able to reconnect with people & be able to find out things that are happening with our class.  ( Wish I had known about the reunion in 2004 - I would have tried to attend that one)  Looking forward to our "50th" reunion in 2013!!

PLEASE MAKE PLANS TO BE THERE IT MAY BE THE LAST TIME SOME OF US WILL BE ABLE TO GET TOGETHER!!

TO DENNIS: I'm sorry I didn't realize you were there.  I wish you would have spoken to me.  It has been so many years, I hardly knew Wayne & Marty.   Take care & see you at the 50th!!

Hope the rest of 2011 is great for everyone.

Hey! Any of us left from 1963. It's 60 years next month!
Any survivalists still mobile? Could just do a dinner one
Saturday night or maybe a Lake George dinner cruise
in July or August. Suggestions? Any takers?

My dear friend, Ellen Chicoine Wattsman died on February 22nd, 2024.  She was my closest friend at Troy High School and I just learned of her passing from Legacy.com.  She will be dearly missed.  She was very special.  My condolences to her family.

Never thought I'd still be around at age 80. I'm still here a few minor health issues but still feeling good. Can't be too many of us left. Betsy, maybe a section to check in that we're still here.

May 2026 update from classmate, Donna Nelson Conlin:

This is Donna Nelson Conlin. I retired from my position as Schodack town clerk nine years ago.  I served for 32 years and loved doing it. While I was kind of shy before, talking with and helping residents, brought me out of my shell.   I have lived in this community for 60 years and have no desire to move.

I am the mother of two amazing women amazing; three loving grandchildren(girls) and the great grandmother of three( 1 boy-2 girls) with another girl expected in October. I recently lost my husband of almost 40 years.   He had Alzheimer’s and Parkinsons and it was my privilege to walk beside him, love him, and take care of him to the very end.  I am still dealing with the loss but am so grateful that I am surrounded by a loving family.  I am truly blessed because all of my girls, other than one who is in South Carolina, live close to me.

For an 80 year-old, I’m independent  and fairly healthy. I cook, clean, drive, garden, etc.  and still have holiday dinners at my home.  While some tasks may take longer, they still get done.  I finally let my hair go natural (figured it was about time) but who knows that could change tomorrow.   😂

There is a small group of us from Troy high that try to get together once a month for lunch, weather and health permitting, of course 😵‍💫.

Our group included: Anna Church, Regina Gallager, Jean Kilduff, Judy Margosian, Nancy Bonesteel, Sharon Riley, Anita Poole, Joan Rebhun,  Carol Golden and me.   Carol and I have been friends since we were 5!  Judy and I reconnected in our late 20’s.  Anna and Regina reconnected with Carol and I at our 50th class reunion.  They reached out to some of the others and then our little group was formed. You know we lost Anita but the rest of us try to make it as much as we can.  The strange thing is that other than Carol and Judy, I didn’t really know the rest of them that well…life makes unexpected turns and over the last 13 years we have exchanged recipes, laughed and cried and been there for each other.   We meet at various restaurants around the capital region.  While the majority of us live in Rensselaer County,  Gina lives across the river in Schenectady County, but she is always there!

As I said before, I feel blessed.  I may not have set the world on fire, but I’m proud of what I’ve done and who I became.  I’ve had a wonderful life, filled with family, heartaches,  joy, love, a career that I loved  and developed many friendships over the years. What more could you possibly ask for…

Thanks Betsy. This will be a bitter sweet update.  After 63 years I know that all updates may not be joyful none the less it will allow us to pray for classmates who may need it.
as for me I just celebrated 58 years of marriage to my wonderful wife GAIL Panucci Rinaldi. We now live in Halfmoon on a private par3 golf course which has allowed me to convently enjoy playing as much as I want.  Although I may soon be needing a new knee.  I will look forward to reading everyone's update.  With fond memories, love and prayers.

Joann Wager Tillberg (Tillberg)

This is Joann Wager Tillberg.  On June 5th, Doug and I will celebrate 61 years of marriage...that's somewhat of a record today.  We both continue to enjoy good health, no joint replacements yet, but still are pestered by the occasioinal arthritis twinges that accompany our advancing ages.

After enjoying European tours for fifteen trips, we now limit our visits to the US, and even those trips have grown fewer with the hassles of air transport today.  Mostly, we drive to visit our son-in-law and daughter who live in Ohio and enjoy our eldest daughter and grandaughters who live within 5 miles of us here in Virginia Beach.  We enjoy home projects, although those have focused on cleaning out the garage and attic, lately.  The new deck we are presently having built to replace our old wooden one will not be built by Doug this go-around, as he turns 83 this June, and as a gift to him, I prepaid and booked the project with a local deck-building company in honor of his upcoming birthday as I knew he was dreading undertaking that huge project himself.

Life is good and we both feel blessed.  We've both been retired for almost twenty years now...me from teaching high school Engish to wonderful students for 25 years and then, serving as librarian in the same school system and school. Doug worked in  IT for a national healthcare company.  I garden our large flower beds filled mainly with perennials and annuals in pots in the front of the house, and Doug still mows our lawn and keeps it looking green.  We have always had dogs throughout our married life, usually two, as we do now.  Cookie is seven and Sissy is one; they fill our lives with companionship and love.

It's interesting to live in these changing times, and I'm always heartened to read the books of Elizabeth Stout who absolutely nails the human condition with the challenges of older age...how did this time come so soon for us all?  The years meld, one intor another, and, viola, here we are in our old age.  I have to laugh at the circulars that now target our mailbox on burial costs and cremation...also a twinge of annoyance at being reminded of our placement on the last human circle of life...as if we didn't know.

Best wishes for health, happiness and love to all of our class who are still posting and enjoying life.  I have learned to love Virginia in the many years I've lived here, but I still miss my grandparents log cabin at Loon Lake and the beautiful Adirondack mountains every summer.  My heart and dreams always go there for comfort.

And thanks to Betsy Savery and all who keep this message board up and running.  They have chronicled our history and continue to do so.

HI CLASSMATES, TIME IS SURE MARCHING ON: born 1945,graduated 1963, USAF 1964-68, married 1971,kids,grangkids, retired 2003, doctor appointments ongoing, It seems we're in the same boat, just a little different routes(at least we're still on the boat). Still married to Bababra 55 years. During retirement i have done a fair amount of hunting/fishing. Traveled around the country a bit, Florida with kids to see the mouse, Las Vegas (visit relatives (?),San DIEGO, trips to Ireland,Scotland,England.heading for our 3rd trip to Hawaii ( started as one time for anniversary, somebody liked it so much, went for the second time, my daughter thought it would be a great family trip so we are off again.(going to start a fund-me page when we get back🙄🫢😂). Thankful what we have, living in the same old house (1899) in Averill Park,NY. Living within our means(but straining it a bit 🫣😂). Other then that, it takes me twice as long o complete half as much, which why we're again in the same boat. As we all had some hard times and some good times, can't really complain. So, lets keep putting one foot in front of the other. Just bragging a little bit, I feel i did pretty good from where i started. Well, wishing the classmates of 63, good health, good luck, take care. Walt
