Michael Patrick O'Bryan

Michael Patrick O’Bryan WOODBINE, GA - Michael Patrick O’Bryan, age 69, of Woodbine, Georgia passed away peacefully after an extended illness on February 11th, 2014 at the Baptist South Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Mike was born on December 9th, 1944 in Looe, England to the late Francis V. and Doris E. Childs O’Bryan. From the age of two, he lived in New York and graduated from Troy High School. In 1963, Mike joined the United States Navy and served for 22 years and retired as a Senior Chief. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Brenau College of Gainesville, Georgia in 1992. He was employed with the Department of Defense (DOD) Naval Underwater Warfare Center in Newport, Rhode Island and Kings Bay, Georgia, retiring in 2000. Mike was a dedicated, loyal, hardworking, kind man with great integrity who responded to the needs of others. He was a lover of sports, greyhounds, warm-weather, boating, and was an avid golfer. He will be missed by all who knew him. Mike was the loving husband and best friend of his wife, Gail O’Bryan of Woodbine, Georgia; and proud father of his sons, Shawn O’Bryan of Quincy, Massachusetts and Michael O’Bryan of Middletown, Rhode Island. He was an amazing brother and friend to his sister, Alice O’Bryan-Dwyer of Waterford, New York, and is also survived by his sister, Maryann Suen of North Greenbush, New York; and two granddaughters, Katie and Cassie of Middletown, Rhode Island, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A celebration of his Life will be held at a later date with the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland, Georgia is entrusted with the arrangements.
