Troy High School
Class Of 1972
THS Class of '72 and guest members, welcome to the Troy High Class of 1972 web site!
Weekend of August 8, 9 & 10, 2014 !
An informal gathering!
Less than one month from now!
To keep it simple we decided to focus on the great activities from last year that did not require much effort to organize but provided maximum opportunity to reconnect with classmates. No forms to mail, no RSVP and no money to send in to reserve a spot. Just show up!
Friday Evening, August 8, 2014: Let’s meet at 7 PM and stay until midnight or later at the Recovery Sports Grill, Hilton Garden Inn, 235 Hoosick Street, Troy, NY 12180. Bring your badge from last summer and you’ll get one free drink!
Saturday Morning/Afternoon, August 9, 2014: We’ll meet at the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market around 10:00 AM. (9:00 AM for early risers). Enjoy the Market, then walk to lunch at Bombers Burrito Bar, 2 King Street, Troy, NY 12180, probably around noon. If you plan to skip the Market and go straight to lunch, call or email either Henry or Joyce late Saturday morning to make sure that the lunch location and time have not changed.
Saturday Evening, August 9, 2014: Our classmate, Peter Iselin (’72), has invited us to come on down and hear his band, DIVA AND THE DIRTY BOYS, play at Brown’s Brewing Co. from 9:00 PM-12:00 AM. The address is 417 River St, Troy, NY 12180. For those who would like to get there early and have dinner, call (518) 273-2337 to see if reservations are needed.
Sunday Afternoon, August 10, 2014: Last year, this was a great end to the weekend’s festivities. Park Pub Restaurant (outside deck), 12:30 PM to late afternoon, Frear Park, 2701 Lavin Ct, Troy, NY 12180.
- Contact at least one classmate (high school or grade school) or teacher and encourage them to come to at least one of the four meeting places.
- Look at THS ’72 classmate list on the classcreator.com website and find one person who has not registered. Contact them and encourage them to register on classcreator, OR get their contact information and send it to us and we will send them a message to encourage them to sign up so they can get notices of future events.
For those of us who attended last year's events and for those who missed in the fun ... it's time to make some new memories! Don’t wait!! Since last year we have lost 3 great classmates (that we know of). They are:
- Dan VanPelt,
- Eddie Graton
- and just recently, Theresa Crisp, who spearheaded the 41st reunion event.
We hope you’ll join us this August as we share fond memories of these and other classmates that we have lost.
We all have many things to be thankful for and as we head into our 60’s. We all have plenty of stories to share about where we have been and what we hope to do with our future.
So save the dates. Take the initiative to contact a classmate and say “hey did you know that classmates are getting together in August this year. Let’s get together”. Don’t wait; get the word out now!
AND DID YOU KNOW: that some people were apprehensive about going to last year’s reunion? But since then we did not meet anyone that came that was not happy that they came. And everyone had more fun than they imagined seeing “old” faces from the past.
Now if you're looking for something more formal, like last year, then you will have to wait 3 more years for our 45th Reunion!
And in case you are looking for something to do in your retirement year…we are looking for planners and organizers for the next BIG Reunion. So don’t be shy, let us know you want to help.
Please register and fill out your contact information so we can keep you up to date. Just click on classmate profiles, find your name and fill in your current information. If you have any information of a classmate who may have passed away, please forward the information to us and we will enter it into the memory section.
