Gordon died unexpectedly November 6, 2002, just weeks before his 53rd birthday.  He was buried with a full Air Force Honor Guard at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.  Gordon served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968-1972, the U.S. Army (1974-1979),  and Air National Guard.
